1st Quarter 2025 Spotlight - Eko

This quarter, we are excited to introduce you to Eko Investments, a New York-based company that enables banks and credit unions to offer a digital investing solution, directly on your existing banking platforms via Eko’s white-label solution. With Eko, you can stop the flow of assets to platforms like Robinhood, Betterment, and Acorns by providing a modern, engaging alternative.

I met their CEO, Mart Vos, at Finovate Fall 2024 where he presented a demonstration of a solution that was so popular it won Best of Show. He was subsequently featured on Finovate’s Podcast where he described their end-to-end ‘Investments-as-a-Service’ solution as a way for financial institutions to offer digital investing as simple as they offer digital banking.

Eko is responsive, flexible and continuously seeks to improve the application by adding new features and functionality. Due to Eko’s native integration, our customers have more reasons than ever to engage with our online platform. - Union Bank

Eko aims to democratize investment by allowing clients of banks and credit unions to engage in investment activities directly through their trusted institutions, starting from as little as $10.

The platform offers a variety of investment options, including pre-made portfolios, self-directed investing, and a hybrid model, all while ensuring an intuitive user experience that leverages existing customer data. Eko does not require a core integration and is already integrated into most digital banking providers (e.g., Alkami, Q2, Jack Henry, etc.), making Eko turn-key.

3rd Quarter 2024 Spotlight - Midwestern Securities

This quarter, we’re pleased to introduce you to an Illinois-based independent broker/dealer and Registered Investment Advisory firm that is passionate about helping community-based financial institutions.

Meet Midwestern Securities.

They are a community-minded firm, owned and operated by financial professionals that understand the value that community banks and credit unions bring to their communities. Their team also appreciates the challenges community-based financial institutions face in attracting and retaining customers/members.

“ If you’re not offering what consumers need, there are a lot of competitors lined up to take some of that money and some of that relationship away from your institution, and from your community. It doesn’t have to be that way if you have a robust retail wealth management program.“ - Anne Schutt, VP of Business Development

Partnering with a firm like Midwestern Securities can help you meet the long-term financial needs of today’s consumer and enhance your institution’s value proposition, while potentially improving your financial performance and competitive position in the market. So, whether you have a thriving investment services/wealth management division or you are just starting on your journey to building new streams of non-interest income, Midwestern Securities can offer the expertise and personalized service that can help.
